Despite the initial delays after being announced back in January at CES 2020, the heavily anticipated Autel EVO 2 drone is finally available to preorder at B&H Photo and other various retailers.
Along with the EVO 2 preorder opening up, we also got information about the pricing of the Pro 6K version and Autel’s response to DJI’s fly-more-combo.
Shipping before the end of April
Currently, the $1495 Autel EVO 2 8K drone is the only model with a shipping date with most sites saying orders will begin shipping the week of April 20 (the best estimate for the Pro 6K version is the end of May).
However, most retailers are accepting preorders for both the EVO 2 8K and EVO 2 Pro 6K as well as the “Rugged Bundle” which will add in a hard case, 2 extra batteries, car charger, multi-battery charger, and extra propellers.
The rugged bundle is available with the EVO 2 8K or Pro for an extra $200.
This means that people eying the $1795 Pro 6K version could be paying over $2000 for the new Autel drone after all is said and done.
Since the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Fly More Kit are also $2000 MSRP, this isn’t that much more expensive (though the Mavic 2 Pro getting frequent discounts these days).
Until we get our hands on the EVO 2 Pro 6K and can shoot some test footage it’s impossible to tell if this new drone is worth upgrading to from the Mavic 2 Pro, so stay tuned for updates.
