Best Tech Deals for Black Friday 2019

The 2019 holiday shopping season is in full swing thanks to Black Friday and the upcoming Cyber Monday.  There are almost too many deals going on now to cover all of them (Amazon, Best Buy & B&H Photo have the majority of tech deals — though Kohls & Target have some decent ones one as well) so instead, I’ll focus on the ones being offered primarily on cameras, drones, and smartphones that were released in the past year.

Google Pixel 4/4XL

The Pixel 4 release fell a bit flat, but $200 off with no strings attached certainly makes this Google smartphone look more appealing. This deal is available through the Google Store as well as everywhere else though B&H is including 3 Months of Mint Mobile cell service for free.

GoPro 8 Bundle

The GoPro 8 is just over a month old — so seeing it on sale already is a real treat. This weekend you can pick up the GoPro 8 Adventure Bundle for just $349 (usually $449) at Target, Best Buy, and B&H Photo. Remember, the GoPro HERO 8 sells for $399 by itself so this is a deal even if you chuck the bundled accessories (head strap mount, mini tripod, extra battery, and micro SD card) in the trash.

If you don’t want to spend that much on action cam though, the GoPro 7 Black is currently discounted to $299 and the DJI Osmo Action is down to $279 most places ($259 on Amazon).

Amazon Echo Devices

Despite Amazon refreshing its lineup of Echo/Alexa devices just last month, we are seeing discounts on almost every Amazon device. This includes:

• Echo Dot with Clock: $59 $34
• Echo Show 5″: $89 $49
• Fire TV Stick 4K: $49 $24

These deals are available through all retailers but Amazon is also offering 15% cashback on its devices if purchased with an Amazon Prime Credit Card this Black Friday.

Apple AirPods 2

These little wireless marvels were so popular last year that Apple actually sold out with a few weeks to go before Christmas. In the intervening time, we’ve seen the release of AirPods 2 and more recently the AirPods Pro. While the Pros are too new to receive any discounts the AirPods 2 are seeing deals all over the place — including Apple meager offering of a $25 gift card with purchase.

At the time of writing, the best deals are $139 for AirPods 2 and $155 for the AirPods 2 with Wireless Charging Case through Amazon.

DJI Mavic 2 Pro

I wish I could tell you there were a ton of incredible deals on drones this holiday season, but with the combination of DJI’s market domination and the September tariffs, there aren’t many reals to deals so speak of. The only real discount is on the DJI Mavic 2 Pro which is on sale for $1379 (down from both the original $1449 price as well its more recent post-tariff $1729 price).

The only other drone “deal” is the DJI Mavic Mini for $785 — barely back down below its original price of $799, but you go with the Arctic White version through at B&H Photo.
