In what would have almost seemed like a prank had it been announced on April 1st, DJI has announced a new version of their popular Tello drone that has been restyled in an Ironman color scheme.
There is no mistaking the Ironman Edition Tello drone for anything else. DJI did more than just give the Tello a new paint job. Every part of the drone — even the propellers — is themed Ironman red and gold and there is even a Stark Industries logo on the back of the drone.
Besides the new look the drone itself is unchanged. It has the same 5MP/720p camera as the normal Tello as well as all the other features that make it so much fun. However, DJI (or technically Ryze Tech) has teamed up with Marvel to release a completely brand new Tello Hero App for controlling the drone. It offers users an immersive experience, complete with Tony Stark’s AI assistant Friday and “missions” that take you through the steps of learning to fly.
The DJI Ironman Edition Tello drone is available to purchase now for $129, $30 more than the standard edition. No word as to whether this is only a limited edition model or whether it will stick around for a while. But for any drone enthusiasts that are also Marvel fans, this is almost a must have.
