Snapchat users really want the old Snapchat back following the redesign rollout.
The Snapchat kids want the old way back so badly that in less than 24 hours, a tweet suggesting all we needed was 50,000 retweets has reached more than 733,000 retweets. The call to action is reminiscent of the Wendy’s chicken nugget teen who got 3.6 million retweets, making his plea for free nuggets the most retweeted of all time.
But unfortunately, it’s just a brilliant photoshop job.

“The photo is fake. My friend Kirby Winson, who photoshopped the viral ‘Chief Keef Christmas card’ for brother Zach Svobodny and sister Morgan Svobodny, edited it for me last night,” Isaac Svobodny, who originally tweeted the message, wrote to Mashable via Twitter direct message.
“I didn’t intend for it to blow up like this but I think it sends a good message regardless,” the 20-year-old from Minnesota added.
The redesign is so reviled that Svobodny’s fake tweet is the 15th retweeted tweet of all time, and quickly climbing. Less than an hour after a Twitter employee tweeted that it was number 16, it shot up a slot.
Annnd just like that @isaacsvobodny’s Tweet is the #9 most RT’d ever.https://t.co/F4ekKFUk8D

Svobodny himself is clearly not a fan of the redesign. He had tweeted earlier this week:
The Snapchat update is a bigger mess than that one notebook I’ve been using for all my classes, starting on whatever page I open to and storing all my papers under the front cover

Snapchat is well aware people are not liking the redesign. It’s been rolling out the design slowly. Prior to reaching the U.S., where its largest userbase is, Snapchat users in the UK, Australia, and Canada shared their anger about it with Mashable.
Kylie Jenner, Chrissy Teigen, and YouTube star Marques Brownlee all spoke out about the redesign on Friday. Brownlee, also known as MKBHD, said he’s now prioritizing for Instagram Stories.
Snapchat’s redesign is here to stay, for now. But we think @Snapchat saw your message, Svobodny.
UPDATE: Feb. 10, 2018, 5:50 p.m. EST A Snap spokesperson declined to comment on the tweet and the reaction to the redesign. The company did comment on a workaround solutionto temporarily get the old design back. Svobodyny’s tweet is now the sixth most retweeted tweet of all time.
